A few years ago, during one of Namibia’s worst droughts, an Ovahimba family arrived in this region in search of better rainfall and a chance to rebuild. At the same time, OruSanga faced challenges protecting its Nguni cattle in a landscape shared with predators.
Recognising the Ovahimba’s exceptional knowledge of cattle, land, and natural rhythms, a meaningful partnership was formed. Today, this relationship continues as a story of trust, shared knowledge, and cultural connection — offering guests a rare glimpse into an authentic way of life shaped by coexistence.
